Former England number one Paul Robinson was named Blackburn Rovers’ Player of the Year following another fine season between the sticks.
The 31-year-old, who is a firm fans’ favourite at Ewood Park, has made a number of crucial saves throughout the campaign and has kept eight clean sheets. Robinson has also been a regular in the Rovers line-up and has made the joint-most amount of Premier League appearances for Blackburn.
The former Leeds and Tottenham stopper has been linked with Liverpool in recent weeks, however Steve Kean will be desperate to keep hold of one of his most consistent performers should the Blues avoid relegation.
Meanwhile, Canadian wing wizard Junior Hoilett picked up the Goal of the Season award thanks to his stunning effort against West Brom at Ewood Park in January. The talented youngster beat Morten Gamst Pedersen and Benjani to the accolade. Hoilett has emerged as a hero in recent months, as the tricky wide-man has single-handedly picked up points for the team against the likes of Blackpool and Birmingham. Having given him the chance to shine, Kean is hoping he can persuade Hoilett to sign a new contract in the summer.
